Your Daily Prescription for Laughs...
This year's Oscar nominations are laden with actors who played
biographical roles. From Julia Roberts in Erin Brokovich to Willem
Dafoe in Shadow of the Vampire, Hollywood has gone based-on-a-true-story
crazy. In light of the success of semi-biographical material,
studio execs are clamoring for more. Here are some which are in
production already...
- Short Story - a biopic chronicling Gary Coleman's career
- Paint it Blackout - Keith Richards' heroic story, told
without ever focusing the camera
- Daddy, Am I President Yet? - the story of George Bush's rise
from mounds of cocaine to a life completely paid for by his
father's friends
- Mister Roboto Goes to Washington - Al Gore follows his dreams
and his father's trail of political allies to one day become
vice-president; soundtrack by Styx (if that's okay with Tipper)
- Changing Faces - the story of Michael Jackson's change from
a black man to a white woman
- Starving for Attention - Calista Flockhart's courageous battle
with food
- My True Friends - Matthew Perry's two-hour tribute to a bottle
of pills
- I Didn't See Anything - Ray Lewis tells us all the things he
hasn't seen in his life, including Super Bowl XXXV
- Slammer Buddies - Robert Downey Jr. and Puff Daddy have madcap
adventures in a federal prison in this heartwarming family feature
